Webcast Usage Tips

Webcast Usage Tips

1. Video playback

  • Stuttered Playback:
If you experience stuttered playback of the video, pause the video for a couple of minutes and play it again. This allows the video to pre download ahead of you current watching point. If you have a slow internet connection you may need to do this a couple of times. You will notice the download bar in red progressing ahead of the slider which indicates how far the video has downloaded.

If you are experiencing extremely poor playback check the following:
    a. Do you have a broadband (3G, ADSL, iBurst) connection
    b. Are you downloading other content from the internet, this will slow down your connection.

Note: If you playback is very poor you can pause the video, and leave it to download until finished (you will see the download bar behind the slider will be completely red, at which point you can then continue to watch.
  • No playback:
Ensure you have the latest flash player -
If you are connecting on a corporate network, check with your IT administrator that the playback is not blocked.
2. Slide Controller
The slides are directly linked to the video, the slide controller allows you to navigate backwards and forwards from slide to slide.

Note: you cannot move forward to a slide, if the video has not pre-loaded to that point yet

3. Audio Playback

Ensure you have headphones or speakers plugged into your machine.
Check that your sound is not on mute.
